Fall colors & Liv gets a shot:(

I'm so blessed. I love the Fall colors this time of year and this is the view from my backyard....

and this is some of the beautiful clouds rolling through today that we had from our front yard view! It's days like this that I miss my grandma Brown the most and have really been thinking alot about her lately. I'm happy she's at rest and peaceful but I wish she was here with us playing with the girls. She's watching though...look at that pretty stream of sunshine through the clouds!

Miss Olivia Jean had her 8 month checkup yesterday with Dr. Sutton. She weighed 21 lbs and 4 oz and around 28" long ( I think--I'll have to double check that one when I get back to work Monday). Her ears looked good this time--no signs of infection but one ear was pretty clogged up with wax. She got one shot that she was due for and did really well with that. I had her pacifier handy and as soon as she let out that first big cry I shoved that sucker in! I know one of these days in the near future it will be a hard thing to get away from her, but for right now she loves her paci and it comes in really handy!! She almost immediately stopped crying. Everytime she gets a shot it makes her fussy and a little feverish. I gave her a little Tylenol but she still doesn't feel the best. Here's a pic of her this morning feeling a little lousy and getting some lovin' from her big sis Kayla!

  2. potato tacos are just that, potato tacos! lol! I know it sounds weird! My friend Christina lives in the San Antonio area and she taught me to make them. You just make fried potatoes the way you regularly would (they taste way better fried in butter... but I use the Omega 3 no trans fat butter.. tastes just as good!). Then cook some flour tortillas on the open burner, add shredded cheese and tada! They're very popular for breakfast in the South West. You can add pinto beans to them for a delicious dinner or breakfast, add eggs and bacon or sausage. I love Lousianna hot sauce on mine but my friend uses salsa. They're delicious!
