I've never really posted on the newest things that Olivia has been doing lately so thought I'd add a few especially since I eventually want to turn this blog into a blog book keepsake like the others are doing. For months now, if we holler at the girls from across the room or the house, after me or Eric finish she'll just yell and yell at them directly. She'll even go to them and yell. It's so funny. Now that she can say their names, Kayla is pretty plain and Danielle is kinda like "Dan", she can holler at them using their names! Last night she started throwing things in the trash. I changed her diaper and folded it up. She picked it up and took off. I asked her if she was looking for the trash and she went directly to the trash can. I opened the door and she threw it in. Of course, it was tempting to pull other things out to play with but I didn't let her:) Then she picked up a candy wrapper off the floor and threw it away too.
I noticed a bunch of teeth coming up in the back of her mouth but she won't really let me in to look. If I act like I'm tickling her and her head goes back and her mouth opens you can really see a bunch in there. It's hard to write their teeth in the baby book. She loves to comb hair even if she doesn't have a comb in her hand she'll use her hand if I tell her to comb her hair. She loves her shoes, too, but only certain pairs. She gets upset if I put sandals on her. I don't guess she's figured them out yet as to why the toes are open--go figure!
Of course the cute antics are "gimme five", dancing, catching her actually watching a few minutes of cartoons, running to the fridge to dig food and condiments out to bring to us, barking like a dog, mooing for the cows, playing with rocks (oh, glorious rocks), playing ball & throwing it back & forth, looking at animal books a thousand times/day--these are all things she has done for quite awhile though. The funniest thing I think is that she recognizes my mom & dad's house/drive, her babysitter Mindy's and our home. As soon as she sees them she starts yelling except for my mom & dad's--she barks! She knows Josh's dog Sadie is there and looks for her immediately. Also, when we lotion her up after a bath she'll put her hand underneath the pump and then rub her belly like she's lathering herself up.
On Thursdays especially when it's just me & her she literally follows me doing whatever I do. If I'm digging clothes out of the washer & throwing them into the dryer she is there to push the clothes in the dryer and close the door. If I open up the dishwasher to put away clean dishes she is digging all the silverware out and bringing it to me to put away. She used to be very afraid of the vacuum cleaner but I think she's over that now. She does like to have her blankie in hand though just in case the vacuum gets really close it can protect her:) If I pick something up to put it away she usually digs it back out. So when I say she's "quite the help" she really is!!! Ha.
Thanks, Olivia Jean, for helping us to remember what babies do. It's hard to remember when my other sweet baby girls are now almost 11 & 8!!! Almost I said but not quite. They act like they are 18 already somedays. It makes me a little sad to even think about taking Olivia's baby bottle away completely because I know this is the last few weeks or months that I can feed her that way like a BABY. She only takes it at naptime and bedtime and not at all at Mindy's so I think that's good enough for now. At least it makes Mommy happy!!!
